It’s a little bit like magic. The way the London Afrobeat Collective (LAC) can make even the stiffest limbs move as though they’re flexible like a rubber band. We invite you to grab your calendars, draw a bright red heart on Friday the 6th of September and make no other plans than to feel their pounding rhythms, soaring melodies and hypnotic grooves from the tip of your head all the way to your toes.
Think we’re exaggerating? A quick listen to their albums ‘Food Chain’ and ‘L.A.C.’ will prove our point. Yes, their music is fantastic, but what takes them to the next level is their live show. Glastonbury’s co-creator Michael Eavis thinks so too, which is why he personally invited the band to perform at the festival. They’ve also shared their beats with the world-famous Bombay Bicycle Club, performing at massive festivals in the UK such as Latitude, Reading Festival and Glastonbury Festival.
Yes, their C.V. is impressive, and we could go on and on about the force that is LAC, but what we’d really like to do is to invite you to come and experience it for yourself at this year’s Embassy Festival. They’ll be performing on the Friday evening, which sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? Between the beautiful trees of the Lange Voorhout, in the colourful setting you’ve seen in previous years. Irresistible.
