For the second year in a row we’ll have an Embassy Festival stage at THE LIFE I LIVE Festival. The Embassy Festival is a two-day world trip that takes place every year in the beginning of September at the idyllic Lange Voorhout. The team behind it are the same people organising THE LIFE I LIVE festival every year. All the international sounds and vibes, that you’ll have heard at the Embassy Festival, will be present at the Hofplaats stage on Kingsday.

April 16, 2018

BOKA DE BANJUL will bring West-Africa to The Hague this year. The Gambian singer and percussionist produces an eclectic mix of mbalax, afrobeat, jazz, reggae and much more. Standing still is not an option! We’ll stay in the African vibes with the Sahara blues sound coming from KEL ASSOUF. Hypnotizing African sounds with strong Western influences. A must-see!

If you visited the Embassy Festival last year, you’ll have probably witnessed KOFFIE entertaining everyone. Their pop, funk, jazz and afrobeat sound haven proven to get even the most hesitant person to dance the night away. From California we’re welcoming ANDY FRASCO to the festivities. Their music is best described as pure sunshine that’ll give you energy for days. Definitely put this soul/blues/jazz/rock sensation on your shortlist. Afterwards you can continue the party with L’CHAIM. Grab a mixing bowl, throw in some violins, clarinets, accordions, bouzoukis and five different languages and whisk it. That’s the klezmer/balkan pop sound you’ll be served with. We can’t wait.

There’s much more to enjoy on Kingsday with a.o. ROXEANNE HAZES, THE HOWLIN’, LUMINIZE, PIP BLOM, PIÑATA and THE BRAHMS. All your senses with be tickled at the festival, as there will also be 17 food trucks, serving lots of different cuisines to make sure everyone can find something they’ll love. The shops in the City Centre of The Hague will be open on Kingsday. Bringing the little ones? They’ll be able to enjoy lots of summery tunes at the Silent Disco for Kids at the Grote Marktstraat amongst many other fun activities happening all over town. Get dancing with several brass bands that will be going through the streets, cruise the canals with the Willemsvaart or visit the Orange Market in the Boekhorststraat, the fun fair at the Malieveld, the Geranium market on the Lange Voorhout, several festivities in the Oude Molstraat and you might even see some historical trams driving through town.

On KINGSNIGHT the city centre of The Hague will be filled with music across eight different locations. It makes THE LIFE I LIVE one of the biggest and most enjoyable festivals in the Netherlands. Performing on Kingsnight are (a.o.) : Kraantje Pappie, EUT, Gallowstreet, Pete Philly, Son Mieux, Brutus, Marc O’Reilly, Niko, Los Paja Brava, The Lumes, Supersonic Blues, Tom Trago,  The Mysterious Blues Bastards, Convoi Exceptional, Small Time Crooks, Fets, Jean Paul Rena, New Dosis Audio, James Burki, Get The Funk Outta My Kitchen, Garden Mum, No Justice, Banana Savannah, VXUY and DJ Friss.
