CREATIVE ARENA (15:35 – 15:50)

Journey to the mountainous regions of Northern Philippines with the MABIKAs Foundation, a cultural performing group that brings the rich indigenous traditions of this area to life. In collaboration with the Philippine Embassy in The Netherlands, the group will present a three-part performance featuring traditional songs, chants, and dances.

Delight in the soul-stirring melodies of ‘Soyosoy di dagem,’ ‘Dongdong-Ay,’ and ‘Bodong Matagoan,’ and let the vibrant Tayaw dance sweep you off your feet. This traditional dance encapsulates the community’s joy during feasts and is a true spectacle to behold. Adding to the visual feast, the group will also showcase the vibrant and colorful attire of the Igorot indigenous peoples.

Talented musicians Mercedes Dewalan and Piolo Miranda, along with three other members of the MABIKAs Cultural Performing Group, will lead this captivating performance.
