India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with a kaleidoscopic variety and rich cultural heritage where over 22 major languages and 415 dialects are spoken. Home to 1.4 billion people, India is the world’s largest democracy. It is the seventh largest country in the world with an area of 3,288 million sq kms, and has a long coastline of over 7,500 kms, with the highest mountain range in the world, the Himalayas, to its North, the Thar desert to its West, the Gangetic Delta to its East and the Deccan Plateau in the South. Since Independence 75 years ago, India has achieved all-round socio-economic progress and is now the fifth largest economy in the world. India holds the G-20 Presidency this year and will be hosting the G-20 Leaders’ Summit meeting in September 2023. Activities include Indian food, free Indian coffee, heena application, Indian handicrafts.
