How to create Hanji Rubber Shoes
Discover the beauty of Hanji with our Hanji artcraft workshop! Hanji is a Korean hand-made traditional paper, made from the fibrous skin of the mulberry tree. Being made from a strong and endurable material, the paper features a strong vitality and superior strength and it has been used in everyday products, including books, wallpapers and containers. And for now as various craft techniques are being applied to making diverse Hanji artcraft items, everyone could try making Hanji D.I.Y. items with workshops and tutorial videos.
In this video, Ms. Geum-suk Park, a hanji doll artist from the city of Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, introduces how to make your own Hanji Rubber Shoes. Rubber shoes (Gomusin in Korean) is a shoe made from rubber, widely worn in the early 20th century in Korea. Ms. Park guides you to beautify a plain-white gomusin with colored-Hanji paper.
