Flowers by the pathway

Dancing, as a series of body language that expresses oneself, connects the people with different cultural backgrounds and nationalities. Chinese folk dance is a form of performing arts that involves rhythmic body movements combined with music and costumes.  China has 56 ethnic minorities, each of which has a culture that is characterized by, among other features, a set of unique folk dances.

Each ethnic groups’ folk dance reflects the peculiarities of their religious, cultural and historical narrative. Performers are clothed in colorful, choreographed costumes.  Common themes include rivalry, and love – but also forgiveness – as well as matrimonial bliss.
