Formed shortly after the Second World War, Utrecht Byzantine Choir was put together by a group of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic seminarists and their professors. But even after they finished their studies, requests to perform kept coming in, so they decided to keep on going. Nowadays the choir is conducted by Iryna Gorvank. The choir is keen to promote Eastern liturgy and keeping the Ukrainian singing culture alive outside Ukraine. They will perform a variety of songs, including classical composed Ukrainian poetry and Byzantine Slavic liturgic and Ukrainian songs.
