Classical stage, Saturday 1 September

Swedish jazz-superstar Ida Sand has transformative musical powers. Whether it be in her re-workings of songs originally made famous by the likes of Nina Simone, Etta James and Aretha Franklin, or in her stunning renditions of her own compositions, everything she touches she turns “into sparkling gems, with her dark, power-velvet voice” (Financial Times).

Here, in an intimate solo-set created especially for the Embassy Festival, Ida performs a personal selection of favourite numbers from her albums – from her heart-warming debut solo-album “Meet me around Midnight” (2007), her tribute to Neil Young in “Young at Heart” (2015), through to offering a sneak peak at her highly-anticipated upcoming release “My Soul Kitchen” (October 2018).
